THINGS TO DO IN ERIE, PA

Plays, concerts, dance performances, art exhibitions, workshops, classes, and more...the arts live at PACA. From modern classics to contemporary hits, to works by local playwrights, PACA is Erie's home for theatre with an edge.

PACA not only produces our own events but we also act as a host venue for other organization's artistic endeavors. By opening our doors and sharing our resources we give these groups the ability to present their work in a professional and exciting atmosphere.

Are Women Human? - An Art Exhibit by Becky Coppock

I have been working on this show because I have spent a long time feeling completely confused about the responsibility of my role as a female today, I am a daughter, mother, and teacher of women. Feminism has become such an important part of my life: it 's changed me for the better and shaped who I am in unbelievable ways

For me, to be a feminist is to answer the question "Are Women Human?" with a yes…It is about justice, fairness, and access to the broad range of human experience.

Feminism has fought no wars. It has killed no opponents. It has set up no concentration camps, starved no enemies, practiced no cruelties. Its battles have been for education, for the vote, for better working conditions…for safety on the streets…for childcare, for social welfare…for rape crisis centers, women's refuges, reforms in the laws.

Feminism is about women consulting their own well-being and being judged as individuals rather than as members of a class with on personality, one social function, one road to happiness. It is about women having intrinsic value as persons rather than contingent value as a means to an end for others.
